County Sports Partnership

What is a County Sports Partnership?

A County Sports Partnership (CSP) is a network of key agencies and providers committed to establishing a sustainable infrastructure to provide a single system for all people to benefit from sport.

There are 4 CSP’s in Yorkshire:

  • North Yorkshire Sports Partnership
  • West Yorkshire Sports Partnership
  • Humber Sports Partnership
  • South Yorkshire Sport and Physical activity Partnership

The Role of Sport England Yorkshire

As the Strategic lead for sport in Yorkshire, the aim of sport England Yorkshire is to increase participation in Sport and physical Activity in Yorkshire by 1% a year, by developing and using Strategic Partnerships throughout the region.

Regionally, the 4 CSP’s and sport England Yorkshire work with other agencies including Yorkshire Forward, Yorkshire Culture, Yorkshire Tourist board, Government Office and various Health, Education bodies to help to ensure the effective implementation of the Plan.

Community Sports Networks are currently being established and evolving at a local level, to lead, coordinated and support the delivery of the priorities identified in the Yorkshire Plan for sport.

How can we work in Partnership with You?

  • We work strategically with a wide range of partners in the sub-regions of Yorkshire.
  • We want to develop good, two-way relationships with partners to ensure we are promoting each others’ messages and providing relevant information to:
    • Anyone interested in Sport (participating, supporting, promoting, etc…)
    • Anyone interested in Physical activity/active recreation (eg the health benefits, to encourage social inclusion, economic improvements, etc…)
    • People and organisations who do not currently have an interest, but who want to use sport/physical activity as a vehicle for achieving their objectives
    • The general public
