Quest is the UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure

Quest defines industry standards and good practice and encourages their application and development in a customer-focused management framework. Recommended by British Quality Foundation for Self-Assessment and in Sport and Leisure Operations.

Quest has two distinct categories; Quest Facility Management, and Quest Sports Development.

The process is undertaken in 3 main stages:

  1. Self-Assessment
  2. External Validation
  3. Ongoing Maintenance

Quest operates a grading system based upon the scores achieved:

  1. Registered – above 60%
  2. Highly Commended – 75% - 84%
  3. Excellent – 85% and above

Quest in North Yorkshire

A number of facilities across North Yorkshire have undertaken the Quest Quality Scheme, achieving creditable results.

At Craven District Council, the department responsible for Sport Development have recently undertaken the Quest Quality Scheme and have achieved a Highly Commended score, a great achievement, setting a standard for other Local Authorities.
