Clubmark

"Safe, Effective and Child-friendly Club Accreditation"

For sport to develop the quality of club activity is essential, Clubmark is used by National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) of sport as part of their club accreditation programme. It is employed primarily for clubs with junior sections to ensure an environment and culture appropriate for Young people, in addition it is nationally recognised as the mark of a quality club.

North Yorkshire Sport understand the value of quality clubs, and are working with the Local Authorities, National Governing bodies (NGB’s) and Sport England to promote and help clubs to reach this benchmark.

How will it benefit your club?

By reaching this national standard your sports club will benefit in a number of ways, through:

  • Increased membership
  • Support from Sports Development Professionals
  • Development for the future
  • Development of Coaches, leading to increased performance and success.
  • Development of Volunteers
  • Increase in club profile
  • Feature on local and national databases

North Yorkshire Sport recognizes that Club Accreditation massively assists the development of Sport and contributes to the increase of levels of Participation in Young People and Adults.

How can we help?

Clubs working towards Accreditation can receive help and advice from their NGB, Local Authority Sports Development Team, their County Sports Partnership and Sport England. This can be through, resources, advice, workshops and information.

Sport England have produced a generic resource pack; this provides a detailed breakdown of the criteria as well as a comprehensive set of templates that will help develop the policies and procedures, which put clubs on the path towards Accreditation. The Resource Pack can be downloaded from www.sportengland.org/clubmark

How to get involved...

Clubs need to register with their individual sport National Governing Body accreditation scheme. By reaching the standards, clubs will be awarded their National Governing Body club accreditation mark as well as the cross-sport Clubmark award. National Governing Body contact details can be found in our Sports section.

At North Yorkshire Sport we appreciate that as your club takes a step to reach accreditation it is working to improve the Sporting environment for all its members. Any support we can provide to promote this continued improvement will be available.
