Coaching is central to the development of sport at every level. Coaches provide the process and inspiration to motivate and develop sporting athletes. The governments vision for coaching is that "by 2012 the practise of coaching in the UK will be elevated to a profession acknowledged as central to the development of sport and the fulfilment of individual potential." At North Yorkshire Sport we realize this importance and are constantly working to reach our vision that in North Yorkshire "a world class coaching system will be in place ensuring that the right coach is in the right place at the right time."
Sports Coach UK
Sports Coach UK is a charitable organisation dedicated to the development and implementation of coaches and coaching throughout the UK.
Sports Coach UK and North Yorkshire Sport believe that coaches at all levels must be valued whether in the school playground, the local club or at major international events. Coaches are people who motivate, encourage and inspire.
Sports Coach UK Vision is dedicated to guiding the development and implementation of a coaching system, recognised as a world leader, for all coaches at every level in the UK. We will work with our partners to achieved promoting:
- Professional and ethical values and inclusive and equitable practice
- Agreed national standards of competence as a benchmark at all levels
- A regulated and licensed structure
- Recognition, value and appropriate funding and reward
- A culture and structure of innovation, constant renewal and continuous professional development.
