First Aid for Parents, Grandparents & Guardians  10/11/2009

There may be a time when a child in your care will require First Aid. This practical course offers an insight into important First Aid Skills, which are invaluable when accidents happen. All attendee’s will receive a First Aid kit and a First Aid manual to take home and all money raised will go to Guardian Angels York, the children’s high dependency unit at York hospital.   more>>

Coaching Bursary Scheme  28/10/2009

Tall and Talented Britons are wanted to try out for the 2016 Olympic Games!  19/10/2009

A nationwide talent search is calling for athletic men over 6’3” and women over 5’11” to apply to represent Great Britain in Rio de Janeiro. They have until 16th November 2009 to do so via www.uksport.gov.uk/talent. Following the announcement on the 3rd October that Rio will host the next Olympics after London, UK Sport and the English Institute of Sport have joined forces to find athletes capable of representing and winning medals for Great Britain in Brazil in 2016.   more>>

North Yorkshire Sport team last Saturday took up a challenge to cycle the Yorkshire Stage of the Tour of Britain professional cycle race for charity. The 8 strong group which included Executive Director, David Watson set out from Scunthorpe on a misty morning and peddled their way over the 110 miles to finish on Heworth Stray in York.   more>>

Great Britain Call up for Martial Arts Brothers  22/09/2009

Daniel and Mathew Hawkridge from the Troid Ryu Freestyle Karate Club based in Scarborough have both been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations European Junior Championships. The Championships are to be held in Pula, Croatia and begin on the 21st of September. The lads were selected to the GB team after excellent performances at some of the top Kickboxing events this year.   more>>

Yorkshire’s success at the sport of Triathlon wasn’t just limited to the Brownlee Brothers in the Elite world Championships on the Gold Coast, The day after Alistair clinched the World Title the Young Athletes of the Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Team took the national title at the 2009 British Triathlon Inter Regional Championships held at Bryn Bach Park in South Wales on Sunday.   more>>
