The launch was part of the Yorkshire Gold launch for the Yorkshire and Humber region and featured a wide range of activities that will on offer over Open Weekend such as dance and performing arts as well as sports activities.

Fresh from competing at the European Junior Championships and returning with Gold Medals, Oliver Dingley and Jack Laugher, were on hand to promote their achievements as they have their sights set firmly on competing at the Olympics in 2012.

Also on hand were club members from York Vikings Basketball Club demonstrating their skills. Representative from the club will be on hand at the York ‘Just 30 Fair’ which is taking place at Museum Gardens in York over the weekend, with clubs and organisations on hand for people to try new activity.

Representatives from North Yorkshire Table Tennis and the English Table Tennis Association were also involved promoting the Table Tennis activity that people can take part in over the weekend and beyond.
