SportsAid

SportsAid is the charity for sports people, helping the next generation of young British sportsmen and women to succeed.

SportsAid helps talented young sports people at an age when no-one else does. When they start out, more often than not their only sponsors are mum and dad. Any independent recognition and financial help that they get makes a huge difference.

SportsAid Facts

SportsAid has provided financial support to athletes for over 31 years.

At the 2004 Athens Olympics, Britain had 17 gold medallists. SportsAid had supported 15 of them.

If SportsAid was a country, it would have come 6th in the Medal Table at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

86% of athletes supported last year felt that SA funding was the key to their progression within their sport.

On average SportsAid recipients spend an approximate minimum of £5,000 per year on their chosen sport.

Every year SportsAid gives financial support to approximately 2,000 young sportsmen and women.

Last year over 260 athletes from Y&H were assisted receiving grants worth approximately £126,000.
