North Yorkshire Rugby Clubs go to Twickenham

Rugby at schools

Two   teams  from North Yorkshire are playing in the curtain raiser and forming the guard of honour for the England vs Wales Six Nations Rugby Union  match which will be on Saturday 25 th  February at 4.00pm . Settle CE Primary School/North Ribblesdale partnership (pictured top right) is made up of players who first started playing rugby at the schooland were inspired to then join their local club. Picture below is with the England  player Ben Morgan when the pupils met him at the England training session in Leeds back in Janurary.

The Richmondshire  RUFC  are  the   other  team  that will make up the guard of honor pic  bottom  right, whose trip is thanks to the efforts of Brompton-on-Swale Primary School pupil, Alex Greer. Alex was  the only player in the team this time last year. He  managed to recruit some of his class mates and this  has encouraged other players to come along from  his village, nearby Catterick Garrison and Richmond.
