Active Forest @ Dalby
North Yorkshire Sport are working in partnership with the Forestry Commission to deliver a Sport England funded programme, 'Active Forest'. Active Forest is a project aimed at encouraging people to come and be more physically active in forests across the UK. We are working closely with Dalby Forest in Ryedale to encourage people to participate in a variety of activities creating a 'sporting habit for life'.
Dalby Forest is located on the southern slopes of the North York Moors National Park covering over 8,000 acres of woodland including cycle routes, play areas for children, barbecues for the family and plenty of cycling and walking trails for all abilities. It is a fantastic location with plenty of activities to take part in as well as new and existing events to get involved in.
Currently, Dalby forest has several play on the day activities which you get involved in at the visitor centre including football, volleyball and soft archery. All free to use just a great opportunity to get involved in sport. In addition to this, we host a variety of events throughout the year to cater for complete beginners through to experienced athletes. in addition to one off events we are in the process of introducing a number of regular activities for you to get involved in.
