  • A Conversation with Robin and Laura- Sporting Context Survey Results- You Said, We Will Do! 26th May, 8pm

Robin, Workforce Development Manager for North Yorkshire Sport & Active Humber will be joined by Laura, Development Manager and clubs lead from North Yokshire Sport. In this webinar we will look through the data we have gathered in this years context survey, the trends and where we will focus our work to ensure the clubs and sporting contexts are supported.   • Club Matters- Developing a Marketing Strategy- 9th June, 7-9pm

With so many marketing options out there it can leave you in a muddle. This workshop will guide you through the marketing minefield and help you attract new members, raise funds or enhance your club's profile. Launch your marketing mission today.

By the end of this workshop, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the key principles of a club marketing strategy
  • Describe how to develop a marketing strategy using a simple framework
  • Identify different marketing channels to maximise exposure
  • Understand how to effectively monitor and evaluate their marketing strategy

This is a Club Matters workshop. Club Matters workshops are short training sessions, funded by Sport England and delivered across the country by Club Matters facilitators in a range of specific topics. The sessions will develop your skills, improve your knowledge and ultimately help you develop your club.

  • Sport England Community Emergency Fund Webinar

North Yorkshire Sport & Active Humber hosted a joint webinar to discuss Sport England's recently launched Community Emergency Fund in response to the Coronavirus pandemic on Thursday 16th April.

This webinar is to support any organisations thinking of applying for Sport England's Community Emergency Fund across North Yorkshire and the Humber. We are all facing challenges due to the current situation and we are aware that community clubs and organisations are no different.

Damien Smith (Head of Development @ North Yorkshire Sport) and Gary Sainty (Deputy CEO @ Active Humber) discussed the fund which is aimed at supporting organisations that may face financial hardship due to the Coronavirus and discussed how to access the fund fund as well as help with any question's attendees had.

  • A Conversation With... Robin and Jane - Online Learning.

With the nation advised to stay at home during the COVID-19 outbreak, a lot of us will have more time on our hands as our normal club volunteering has come to a temporary stop. Workforce managers, Robin and Jane from North Yorkshire Sport took a look at how you can keep learning and upskilling yourself while staying at home in preperation of life returning back to normal.   • A Conversation with ... NYS Mentors. 5th May, 8pm.

In the conversation this week Jane and Laura, the Development Managers at North Yorkshire Sport who look after the mentor programme were joined by mentors Jeremy Meadowcroft and Rena Crossley and also Chris Collins who's club has been mentored. This is an opportunity to find out more about the mentor programme, what's involved and what the impact has been for some of the clubs mentored.   • A Conversation with Lorraine & Simon- Mental Health at your Club.

Robin, Workforce Development Manager for North Yorkshire Sport is joined this week by Lorraine Hamilton, Training Manager at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and Simon Pierce, Development Manager and mental health tutor at North Yorkshire Sport. We explored what mental health is, why it's important, how to spot signs of poor mental health and how we can contribute to good mental health with our club members. There was also a case study presented by Tracy Power, Legacy Director from Rugby League World Cup 2021 on their Mental Fitness Campaign. The webinar recording can be viewed below:
