Powerchair Football Part 1 – Teaching the Basics

Date: Tuesday 12th November 2019

Time: 6.30 – 9.00pm

Venue: Bishop Young Academy, Bishops Way, Seacroft, Leeds, LS14 6NU

CPD: 2 hours (Level 1 and 2)

Coaches will be able to interact with Powerchair football coaches and players and learn the techniques of the game. This will include passing, shooting, defending, dribbling, ball control and match play.

Coaches are encouraged to interact by offering progressions within the session and reflecting on their own experiences to affect their coaching when working with players with a disability.

Paul Gorman – Leeds Powerchair FC

Paul coached in mainstream football (the running game) for over 20 years and became involved with disability football through Leeds Deaf Juniors over 10 years ago.

After becoming a wheelchair user, he found Powerchair football and has been Head Coach at LPFC for the last 5 years. Paul is currently working with the Wheelchair FA and The FA delivering coaching on the Powerchair Regional Emerging Talent Programme.
