About Cricket Community Coach

Job Specification

To deliver schools cricket coaching in line with the Northants Recreational Cricket Strategy objectives.

Coaching Delivery

  • To deliver our Chance to Shine Primary Schools coaching programme, plus any other schools coaching as directed by the Northants Schools Plan
  • To deliver assemblies introducing our Cricket programmes and signpost participants to local progression opportunities
  • To deliver coaching within our Disability programmes
  • To deliver our Summer Camp coaching programmes
  • To support the delivery of ECBs Nationally recognized participation programmes e.g. All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket
  • Coordinate and deliver teacher Continual Professional Development (CPD) with the Schools Programme Manager
  • Support School competitions and festivals
  • Support deliver of community activity (e.g. Chance to Shine Street) where appropriate
  • Record data relating to coaching delivery

General Support

  • To support as directed all aspects of Northants Recreational Cricket CIC's operation
  • To support Northamptonshire County Cricket Club in different capacities on Matchdays

To Achieve Northants Recreational Cricket's Objectives

  • Delivering a Nationally recognized, high quality, safe cricket programme which supports more people playing the game at the level and ability of their choosing
  • Providing a coordinated and progressive structure and pathway which enables cricketers to maximize their potential

Person Specification

  • Applicants must have a clean Driving Licence and access to their own transport
  • Applicants must have a minimum Level Cricket 2 Coaching Qualification
  • Applicants must have a valid First Aid Certificate undertaken in the last 3 years
  • Applicants must have a valid Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate
  • Valid Safeguarding Young Cricketers (Safeguarding and Protecting Children)
  • Experience of delivering sport to primary school ages


  • Excellent communication skills, enthusiastic and inspiring when delivering to children and young people
  • Excellent keyboard skills, be computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • A flexible approach with the ability to adjust to different requirements as priorities change
