About S.A.I.L (Staying Active and Independent for Longer) Coordinator

The post holder will work within the District of South Derbyshire with the key focus on coordinating and delivering the SAIL project, aimed at encouraging increased levels of physical activity for older adults in targeted communities. This will include, Chair based exercise, falls prevention, walking for health and Tai Chi.

You will be expected to work closely with other agencies to develop the project from its infancy, demonstrating an ability to coordinate and direct services to reach those most in need.

The post holder will have experience of working in at least one of the following fields: physical activity, recreation, public health, community development, community sports development and/or exercise related fitness.

The work is varied interesting and rewarding, requiring you to work with a range of individuals within the community to directly improve their health and wellbeing.

The position is within our Active Communities and Health Team and will be based within the offices in Swadlincote. The post is for 18 months initially but may be extended if funding is provided. The starting salary will be based on experience, with a generous pension package, annual leave, and further training opportunities.
