Mental Health - Funded Training Offer

Being physically active has proven benefits to our mental health, the endorphins that are released through exercise can help improve our mood along with the positive feeling we may experience from social connections whilst being active, or that broader connection to the outdoors or the community where we are active.

The pandemic has affected us all in so many ways, particularly our mental health, and we believe now is as important as ever for the population to be active for both our physical and mental health.

With this in mind, North Yorkshire Sport are pleased to launch a new fund to support training for coaches, deliverers and volunteers in clubs and groups to access awareness training in mental health.

The Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity is an E-Learning course designed to develop the confidence to be able to support people experiencing mental health problems, and help them to thrive inside and outside of your sessions.

For a limited time you can apply via the form below to request funding to cover the cost of attending this course. Applications are welcomed from residents of North Yorkshire and York (or those delivering in the county). Applications can only be made individually and can be for those who work in a voluntary capacity as well as a professional capacity.

Please note that we will confirm if your application has been approved and we will not fund retrospectively.
