Harrogate based Taekwondo Master nominated for Yorkshire Choice Award

Taekwondo 6th Dan black belt Master Kambiz R. Ali, who runs a Harrogate based Taekwondo club, has been nominated for the Yorkshire Choice Inspirational Individual of the Year Award. The award comes after a spectacular year for Ali, who personally forged ties between Harrogate and South Korean capital Seoul. In April 2015 Ali initiated the naming of "Harrogate Road" in Dobong, a district of Seoul. In November 2015, Ali returned to South Korea to open the "Harrogate Sports Academy" in Seoul. 2015 also saw Ali become a nominee of the World Taekwondo Hall of Fame and receive a British National Bronze medal in Poomsae.

The Yorkshire Choice awards recognise local people who are an inspiration in their field, something Kambiz R. Ali can proudly boast. Ali's tireless efforts to promote Taekwondo across the UK have inspired others to get active and participate in the disciplined martial arts.
