The level three badminton tournament at York Railway Institute saw North Yorkshire schools battle out for a place in the Regional Badminton finals taking place on 9th March.
The competition was comprised of key stage three girls, key stage three boys, key stage four girls and key stage four boys matches with Wensleydale School taking all four titles.
A representative from the school said "we're proud of what the teams have achieved so far but now we're concentrating on the next challenge. We're looking forward to the regional competition".
The level three county stage was a great event with young athletes being encouraged to keep active and use competitive sport to increase participation. Teachers and team managers thanked North Yorkshire Sport and York RI for organising and making the event a success.
The competition was set in the generous space of York RI and General Manager Colin Weir said: "It's great to see the facilities being used by so many talented young players. We are pleased to be able to host such events and I look forward to hosting the regional event in March".
The event was supported by young leaders from Fulford School, with Sarah Stephenson of North Yorkshire Sport saying: "They were all a pleasure to have at the event and all worked really hard, were enthusiastic, polite and very helpful. They were a credit to themselves and Fulford School. The event would not have run as well if they had not been there."
The next stage of the badminton competition will take place on Wednesday 9th March at York Railway Institute.
