North Yorkshire School Games finale

North Yorkshires biggest schools multi sport event concludes with over 500 young people competing for county honours this Sunday at Queen Margaret's School.

Following on from last months finals event at the University of York which featured Quadkids Athletics, Kwik Cricket and Special Schools Cricket, is the flagship event of the North Yorkshire School Games Calendar. The event includes Girls Football, delivered by York City Football Foundation, Quicksticks Hockey, Mini Tennis, Tri Golf, Netball and Tag Rugby.

Lucy Psarias from North Yorkshire Sport explains "The North Yorkshire School Games is the largest multi sport event in the county and is designed to increase participation in competitive sport within schools. Throughout the year School Games Organisers have been delivering district level competition to find a winning school team to represent them at the county finals."

Each area is allocated a team colour and kitted out in that colour, with medals presented to the winners which have been designed through a 'design a medal' competition. For more information on the School Games please visit
