Canicross Round 2
Posted: Mon, 14 May 2018 13:15
Over a hundred dog owners emerged on Dalby Forest yesterday, to take part in the Forest's second Canicross event. On what was a lovely and crisp spring morning, the event brought together all types of dog breeds from all over the North to compete in a fun event for all abilities.
Paws, feet and treats at the ready, the runners either took part in a 5k or 8k route through the beautiful forest, starting at Adderstone Field. The route was widely praised, with one runner commenting 'Loved everything, loved the soft ground through the forest, was a great trail and event'.
A food van was present supplying hot food and drink to the deserved runners after the race, who also received a finishers t-shirt. The dogs did not miss out, with free treats available and also a pet shop stall by Pickering Pet Store, supplying all things for the furry friends including treats, toys and even a fitness tracker for dogs!
Other participants commented on another fantastic Canicross event, 'super well organized, helpful friendly marshals, beautiful trails, can't wait for the next one!'. Another said, 'Very well organized, and a great route, it was fab so have no idea how it could be improved'.
