Adult Safeguarding in Sports and Activities
Posted: Thu, 11 Oct 2018 15:48
We would like to hear from you….
Have your say……
It's important for us to know what you think….
The Ann Craft Trust (ACT) is a national charity working with staff in the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors in the interests of disabled children and adults at risk.
Sport England is funding ACT to safeguard adults in sport and activity which means that we are developing resources, offering training and giving information and advice to people about how to make sure people feel safe.
Our overall aim is to use information gathered from the workshops to inform future practice in creating and maintaining a safe place where everyone can participate in sporting activities free from fear, harm or abuse.
Regular exercise can help us to feel good about ourselves. It can raise our self-confidence. It enables us to meet other people and make new friends. When we are feeling self-confident we are more likely to be able to look after ourselves. It improves our sense of 'wellbeing' and we are more likely to feel safe and happy in the world.
Please join us, we are holding small group workshops on safeguarding in sport.
We want to find out;
- What you think needs to happen so everyone can feel safe from abuse
- What's working well?
- Is there anything that could be better?
- What can we all do to ensure everyone is listened to?
