New PE Premium Information Released by DfE

The Department for Education have today released the PE Premium information and expectations for this academic year.

DfE have today confirmed the changes to how the Primary PE and Sport Premium should be spent. While the allocation formula will remain unchanged (£16,000 + £10 per head from Year 1 - Year 6 from this years census), there have been some significant changes to the guidance, summarised below:

- The five Key Performance Indicators are unchanged however there is an increased emphasis on all pupils being active every day with further details for schools intending on doing a daily active mile

- Additional clarification on swimming reporting requirements and what the funding can be spent on to support this

- The deadline for publishing information on school websites has changed. This is now expected to be done by the end of the academic year and must include evidence of the impact of the grant on engagement and attainment (in PE or other subject areas, ref. KPI 2)

- New clarification that the grant cannot be spent on capital projects

All details for the Primary PE and Sport Premium can be found on the Department for Education's website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pe-and-sport-premium-for-primary-schools
