Winners decided at School Games event in York

Today saw Queen Margaret's School near York play host to a mini multi-sport School Games event, featuring four simultaneous county wide finales.

The Change4Life Festival is a fun multi-activity day aimed at pupils across a range of abilities, with fun strongly at it's heart. Trying out new games and equipment features heavily, as does displaying the Change4Life values of Honesty, Self Belief, Teamwork, Respect, Passion and Determination.

Also taking place was the Dance Festival, aimed at teams of 10 from Key Stage 3 and 4.l.

The Year 7 Netball was the County Final for the age group, and is always hotly contested, with the winner and runner up going on to represent at the regional finals held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield in May

Finally the Inclusive Swimming Gala is a team event where each competitor completes one individual and one relay event.

The day saw some fantastic competition and huge enjoyment across the activities, with Jody Ivel from North Yorkshire Sport commenting, 'It's great to be able to bring together young people from across North Yorkshire to experience an event like this. Feedback from teachers and participants is usually very positive and we hope today will be no different. The facilities here at Queen Margaret's are perfect to bring together our mini sports festival for the day.'
