Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool Trust which is entering its 25th year of operation is celebrating a prestigious national award for its volunteers.
3 of our volunteer receptionists, Betty Toole, Christine Burton and Jackie Brown who have been volunteering at the pool since it opened in 1994, totalling 75 years between them, attended the Community Leisure UK awards at the Lowry Theatre in Salford on Wednesday evening.
Accompanied by Chris Porter, Facility Manager, Fiona Garnett, Volunteer Recruitment Manager and Chris Hirst, Training and Operations Manager, our three lovely ladies enjoyed being wined and dined before the awards were announced.
With many larger facilities picking up awards in a variety of categories, it was with baited breathe that we heard we were shortlisted to the final four.
We only went and WON!!!
The ladies proudly picking up the award from Hayley McQueen, Sky TV and James Foley
As Betty rightly said in her acceptance speech, the award is for all our volunteerswho give tirelessly to the pool in various roles including Reception, Lifeguarding, Gardening, and Maintenance.
They received the loudest cheer and applause of the evening as they left the stage!
