North Yorkshire County School Games Cross Country results announced!

Today we welcomed the North Yorkshire School Games County Cross Country (XC) Finals, hosted once again at Dalby Forest near Pickering.

All the runners qualified through their local Level 2 School Games events, with only the top 8 from each district qualifying from each year group, competing to take home the title of County Champion.

It was a damp and in places boggy course that greeted the runners in the Great Yorkshire Forest, but the site was buzzing with excited runners and even more excited parents despite the wind and rain!

With nine races taking place one of which was inclusive, there was hardly a break in the action. It was very tight competition!

Young Leaders from Lady Lumley's School in Ryedale did a fantastic job on hand to assist with marshalling, acting as race leaders and rear runners, whilst the area School Games Organisers and North Yorkshire Sport (NYS) staff kept the event running smoothly.

Congratulations again to all the athletes who reached the finals, which is no mean feat in itself.

The provisional results are linked below.

Special mention to Rosie Thistlewood, winner in the Year 6 Girls race who also won in Year 4 and Year 5 making a 'three-peat' of county titles!
