The Safeguarding Adults in Sport and Activity project is funded by Sport England to help National Governing Bodies, Active Sports Partnerships, regional partnerships and sport and activity organisations to encourage shared understandings of good safeguarding practice that might be adopted more widely throughout sport. .
As part of this project/research the Ann Craft Trust have developed a questionnaire to capture participants knowledge and understanding in relation to safeguarding adults in sports services.
Please see below a link to their on-line questionnaire which is currently available;
They are also able to offer the on-line questionnaire to your specific sports group and provide you with a brief report on their findings. All questionnaires/feedback remains anonymous.
They are also happy to deliver a 1.5 hour virtual and/or a face-to-face forum session to gather information.
The sessions are based on a former Olympic champion giving a short presentation of her experiences of safeguarding in sports, followed by an informal small group discussion revolving around 5 key questions. The feedback from the face-to-face sessions have always been positive with participants saying they have benefitted.
Together we can help to raise safeguarding awareness and ensure all our members continue to enjoy their sport, know who to talk to if they have a concern, and know how to keep safe.
If you wish to take the opportunity of a virtual/face to face session for your sports club please contact:
