NY Headteacher Advisory Group
North Yorkshire Sport are seeking applications to join our PE and School Sport Advisory Group.
The group will act as an expert group for North Yorkshire Sport to influence their work supporting PE and School Sport provision.
We are looking for headteachers who are passionate about the value of physical education and school sport, the benefits that it can have for children and young people and the positive impact it can have on whole school improvement.
North Yorkshire Sport Ltd are a charity who use 'Sport as a Driver for Positive Change' and work to reduce inactivity in sport and physical activity as well as using sport to improve wider outcomes for our population.
As part of our work we provide support to the education sector, most notably primary schools around the PE and School Sport Premium, and the delivery of the county level finals of the School Games programme of competition.
Our work is varied, ranging from delivery of events, provision of training, advocacy and influencing and directly supporting governors, headteachers and teachers.
The purpose of the group is:
- To influence the sector to achieve the outcomes of the PE and School Sport Premium,
- To be a representative voice for the education sector to guide and influence the work of North Yorkshire Sport ,
- To champion PE and School Sport within the county,
- To act as advocates for the School Games programme, with a particular focus on inclusion.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for influential headteachers who can draw on a range of experience and passion, particularly in the areas of health and wellbeing and inclusion, ideally from a cross section that represents all ages, different sized schools and different governing structures.
This will be a county wide group which physically meets termly with occasional further engagement as and when determined by the group.
