Introduction to the day

North Yorkshire Sport are pleased to present our summer partnership day for 2019.

The day will focus on the concept of place based working, led by Nurture Development who will introduce community development approaches and will showcase examples from Craven and York to stimulate ideas as part of the morning session.

The afternoon will see the launch of the North Yorkshire Sport 2018/19 Impact report followed by a focus on developing work in our parks and open spaces.

Speaker Biographies

Chris Chinnock - Nurture Development

From the grass roots to the strategic, Chris has over 17 years experience in Social Enterprise and Community Development across VCSE, Public and Private Sectors.

For 5 years Chris managed a Local Authority led approach to ABCD which gives him first hand experience and a unique insight into the opportunities and challenges facing Public Sector organisations in this context.

A skilled and experienced Trainer, Facilitator and Public Speaker – Chris's current role is Head of Business Development at Nurture Development

Jamie Leeson - Fields in Trust

Jamie Leeson, Fields in Trust's Development Manager for the North of England, has over twenty years' experience working across professional sports club, National Governing Body and School Sport Partnership roles. He has worked for Fields in Trust since 2011, delivering national projects, engaging landowners (Local Authorities, Local Councils, Sports Clubs) and key partners (NGBs, charities and government organisations) in the benefits of the protection of green space.
